The death of a dear friend or relative is a stressful and emotional experience for many people. This is a difficult time for the bereaved, and they will need help get through the early stages of arranging a funeral. Here are some of the advantages of choosing between cremations and funerals.

If you are planning a burial ceremony for your loved one without the assistance of a funeral service provider, you may find this task very difficult. There are many reputed companies that provide guidance and support for the entire burial process. With the help of the internet, you can find out the very latest information from the online obituaries.

Over the last ten years or so, cremation has become the most popular way of arranging funerals for many people. It is an act of burning the human body into ashes. Some funeral homes allow this facility and they can arrange for an onsite or offsite crematory to complete the task. However, make sure you consult with the rest of your family about whether it is appropriate to bury or cremate the body of the deceased according to his or her wishes.

Cremating a loved one rather than a burial ceremony will save you money as you will not have to buy an expensive coffin, unless you choose extra frills and services. Before embarking on arranging for a cremation, find out from the funeral company about whether they can hire coffins as this will save you money. Some of these providers have websites with full details of their services as well as contact numbers.

Aside from saving money, there are also other advantages to cremating the deceased. It is believed to be an environmentally friendly way of leaving no trace behind, thus many people opt to go green by being cremated, rather than buried. A decomposing body can leave harmful chemicals in the ground and the coffin will prevent more flowers and grass from growing.

The cremated remains, on the other hand, do not take up any space and there will be no chemicals to harm vegetation. Funeral homes can offer preservation services before the cremation process starts. This is called embalming in order to prevent the potential spread of disease. You may choose to hire a wooden casket that is incinerated with the body.

As time goes by, the option of cremation becomes less and less taboo. Studies have shown that fifty years ago only five percent of the population in USA was cremated, whereas now up to forty percent of the population decides to undergo this process. One leading factor to this drastic shift in numbers is tradition.

The major difference between cremations and funerals is the costs involved. It is much cheaper to opt for cremation as there is no need to purchase an expensive casket for the burial process. And whether it is to save money or the environment, choosing to cremate your loved one is not a taboo subject any longer. Because of all these factors, the number of cremations that are performed every year is not likely to slow down any time soon.

The most common ways to honor a loved one who has passed away is through cremations and funerals through interment. Interments involve burying the dead in earth. A cremation involves burning the dead. These days, more families are choosing to cremate their loved ones rather than burying them the traditional way.

Embalming is necessary for traditional burials and the chemicals used for this process are toxic and bad for the environment. Traditional burials also require the purchase and use of a coffin. Although some cultures have different views about the way a person should be buried, more and more people are beginning to accept cremation as a practical solution.

Burning the deceased will be cheaper than pursuing a traditional burial that requires buying a coffin and burial plot. There is no need to purchase a coffin for a cremation. The family of the deceased can actually rent a coffin for the viewing process. During a cremation, the body is removed from the coffin before rolling it into the incinerator.

There is no need to buy a coffin just for viewing purposes, neither is there a need to buy a burial plot at a cemetery. Usually, the ashes are placed in an urn after the cremation process. The family can decide on what to do with the contents of the urn. Some choose to scatter the ashes in the ocean or on land.

The urn can be placed in a special place inside the home of relatives. Other people decide to place the urn inside a crypt. Still, there are also those who choose to divide the ashes among family members and close friends of the deceased.

There are different ways to perform a cremation. Some families place the body in a coffin so that friends and relatives can view the deceased before the body is burned. Others prefer to cremate the body first and then hold a simple service with the urn and photos of the deceased displayed prominently at a home or another location.

Opting for a traditional burial will involve many expenses and procedures. When one is buried, there is usually a wake for the dead where relatives and acquaintances can view the body. The viewing is usually held at a funeral home for a few days where the family is obliged to pay a fee for renting the place.

A service is usually held during the wake and before the body is moved to the cemetery for the actual burial. Once at the cemetery, the coffin with the body in it will be buried in a burial plot which was previously purchased. The plots these days are expensive considering the rising price of land.

The cemetery staff will also be paid a fee for digging a hole in the ground and filling it again. After the actual interment in the ground, the family will usually host a gathering where food and beverages are served to guests. Cremations and funerals are costly these days but opting for a cremation will be more cost-effective than having a traditional burial at a cemetery.
